Will your cars, bikes and golf cart fit in the garage?

Check real dimensions, vehicle restrictions and approved storage before assuming a garage count tells the whole story.

A two-car or three-car garage description is not a storage plan. Before choosing a Del Webb Minneola home, measure the vehicles and equipment you intend to keep and compare them with the selected garage layout. Community parking restrictions make that exercise useful before purchase rather than after move-in.

Measure with doors and equipment in use

Record vehicle length, width including mirrors, and the clearance needed to open doors. Include any hitch, bike rack or other accessory you expect to leave attached. Check the garage opening as well as the interior footprint, and ask about ceiling height if overhead clearance matters.

Draw the space needed to walk from the car to the house while carrying groceries. Then add bicycles, tools, bins and sports equipment. Shelving consumes usable depth even when it looks unobtrusive in a showroom. A plan that only works with mirrors folded and no walking clearance deserves a second look.

Confirm the actual garage configuration

The builder's Stardom and Stellar pages show garage options within their plan information. The available arrangement depends on the selected configuration and homesite. Use the embedded viewers and obtain the final dimensions and written specification before treating an optional garage area as included.

Ask about outlets, lighting and any planned charging equipment with the builder or a qualified installer. Confirm installation requirements and approvals for the equipment you actually own; do not assume an ordinary outlet is appropriate for every vehicle or device.

Read the parking rules before buying a cart

The supplied Community Disclosure Addendum prohibits street parking and places restrictions on certain vehicles, trailers and equipment. It also addresses golf-cart parking. Request the current complete parking policy and ask where household vehicles and visitors may park, including during overnight visits or a move.

Owning a cart does not establish permission to drive it on every nearby road or path. Verify the approved routes and the rules applicable to the vehicle with the association and the relevant road authority. This article does not identify a permitted route outside the community or make a road-use eligibility determination.

Separate a daily convenience from a storage burden

List the trips you would expect to make by cart and confirm that the destination has appropriate access and parking. Then decide where the cart stays when both cars are home and where its equipment will be stored.

Bring that drawing to your plan comparison. If a particular garage option solves a daily problem, price it early. If it only accommodates things you rarely use, compare the cost with reducing the amount you move. The useful measure is whether the garage functions with everything in place.
